Anna Wintour

Anna Wintour

Anna  Wintour  is  editor-in-chief of  Vogue US from 1988.
This is her first cover of November 1988.
Her idea was to mix up high and low fashion.she chose an image of a fresh-faced, tousle-haired nineteen-year-old, laughing as she walked in the sun in a $ 10 000 jewel-encrusted Christian Lacroix jacket and pair of Guess jeans.
this is her youth picture.

She was born in England. Her father was editor-in-chief at British newspaper. Anna thinks that her career choice was influenced by her father. She is known for her strictness at work. Her hairstyle stays same for years, so this is her trademark.
She has some requirements if she decides to attend fashion show. She demands not to be seated next to other fashion magazine editor.
Her smile at fashion show is really rare thing. She smiles if she sees something really amazing. So if she ever smiles at fashion show the creator of the collection is the proudest person for that season.

She was first editor to decide to place celebrities and not only models on magazine cover.
There's some of her famous quotes:

“Create your own style… let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others.”

“You either know fashion or you don't.”

“It’s always about timing. If it’s too soon, no one understands. If it’s too late, everyone’s forgotten.”

“If you look at any great fashion photograph out of context, it will tell you just as much about what's going on in the world as a headline in The New York Times.”
